Day 4 of the Countdown to Change

Today as part of his 5 Day Countdown to Change, Dayne outlined his ideas for job creation and economic development for Flint.

“Workers in Flint need jobs. Jobs that can support a family. I have a two-pronged approach to job creation Flint. First, Flint has to be open for business. This means streamlining the regulatory and permitting processes for people who are investing in Flint, creating a First Stop Phone Call program so people trying to redevelop properties can get the answers they need to move forward and create jobs, and supporting existing neighborhood businesses. Second, Flint has to be redevelopment ready. We need to start utilizing opportunities, prepare sites for redevelopment, and initiate projects in all wards that will jump start economic development. For too long Flint has been on the wrong track when it comes to creating jobs that can support a family. The only way to get on the right track is to make a change.” –Dayne Walling
