Walling Continues to Receive Important Endorsements

The Genesee County Young Democrats (GCYD) announced their endorsement of Dayne Walling for Mayor of Flint on Wednesday. The GCYD is the official Democratic Party Group for activists 35 and under.

“Dayne Walling's fresh agenda and emphasis on practical, community building is the right direction for Flint, “ said GCYD President Keith Flynn. “Also, Walling's experience in urban politics and redevelopment make him the ideal candidate for transforming Flint for the future. We look forward to working with Mr. Walling.”

“I appreciate the support of the Genesee County Young Democrats,” said Dayne. “Clearly, one of the things we have to do is as a city is become a more attractive place to live for young people and families. So their support of my candidacy and my vision on how we bring opportunity back to Flint is especially gratifying.”

In addition to the GCYD endorsement, Dayne Walling has received the endorsements of the Afro-American Police League, Flint Police Captains and Lieutenants Association, Flint Police Officers Association, Flint Police Sergeants Association, Fraternal Order of Police, Michigan Association of Police Organizations, Genesee Building Trades, Genesee County Democratic Party, Michigan ACORN PAC, Michigan Democratic Party Youth Caucus, Sisters United and the Young Voter PAC.

Dayne Stands with the UAW

Dayne joined striking UAW members on the picket lines today to show his solidarity with the union cause. He handed out cold water to the resolute men and women of the United Auto Workers. Flint was built on a solid foundation of union work and union pride. Dayne honors the hard work and dedication shown by these workers and is proud to support them now in their time of need.

The Genesee County Democratic Party Endorses Dayne Walling

Today in front of the closed North End Police Mini Station, Dayne Walling received the endorsement of the Genesee County Democratic Party (GCDP). The announcement was made by GCDP chairman Ron Duncan. “Dayne shares the Democratic Party’s ideals of strong communities, inclusiveness, and working for the future. Because of this, the Genesee County Democratic Party unanimously endorses Dayne Walling” said Duncan.

Dayne chose the site of the press conference to highlight his commitment to reopening this vital police mini station and returning it to its former role as the base of operations for community policing in Flint. While the station is still in use as a meeting place for neighborhood groups, it is not currently staffed by any police officers.

Retiree Report by Jerry Link, 2nd Vice Chairman

Personal Opinion….On a different note, this is a personal opinion. As most people know, in November of this year we have an election for Mayor of Flint. We have two (2) men running. One who everyone remembers for dumping pig manure on striking workers in Owosso, who has fought Unions for years. Sure, he worked for one dollar a year, but cost the city hundreds of thousands of dollars in lawsuits because of ignorance of the law or by just trying to be a dictator like Mr. Bush, whom this candidate has given more money to than anyone else. This candidate created new jobs for cronies who work on getting him elected; cronies who, by the way, paid thousands of dollars of taxpayers’ money to be “yes men.” These cronies help this candidate get reelected so they can collect a pension and salary from taxpayers’ dollars.

Then we have a young man who grew up in Flint, attended Flint schools, attended college in Michigan, went on to be a Rhode’s Scholar, worked in Washington for a while, then returned to his home town. Now he would like to bring harmony to the city by working with everyone, including a permanent police chief.

If you want someone who continues to be anti-union, costs the taxpayers money in lawsuits, is argumentative and arrogant, will continue to have a part-time police chief, will continue to hire cronies with taxpayers’ money, then vote for Don Williamson.

However, if you want a Mayor that is full of energy, has new ideas for the city, who will appoint a new, full-time police chief, who will work with Unions, appoint the best person for the job, not personal cronies, the man for and of the city of Flint, vote for Dayne Walling.
Hope you can read between the lines and know who the best is for Flint’s future.
