Genesee County Circuit Judge Geoffrey Neithercut cancelled an emergency hearing today on the challenge brought by the recall committee regarding the disqualification of petition signatures by the Genesee County Clerk and the City of Flint Clerk's office. The Recall committee is also alleging that their civil rights were violated by the clerks' offices. The attorney for the County and the City therefore made a motion that the case be taken out of the state court and sent to federal court. The deadline for getting issues on the November ballot is at 4pm today. This defeat for the recall committee effectively ends any chance that the issue will be on the November ballot.
