Dayne is a Blue Tiger Democrat
Dayne is strengthening his commitment to civic engagement and community service through the Blue Tiger Democrats project. He is the first candidate in the country to set aside a percentage of funds raised for community projects.

"The Blue Tiger's focus on civic engagement aligns perfectly with my lifelong commitment to serving the Flint community. I am proud to be a part of this exciting movement to put people first everyday, not just on election day."
-- Dayne Walling
Dayne has a long history of volunteering in his community. Over the years he has given his time and energies to Operation Brush-Up, The Salem Housing Task Force, The Appalachia Service Project, For-Mar Nature Preserve, Habitat for Humanity, Everybody Wins Power Lunch Reading Program, and Court Street United Methodist Church.
Dayne is also a co-founder of Flint Club and served as the volunteer President of the Board of the Directors for the first 4 years of the organization's growth. Dayne became Flint Club's first Executive Director in 2006 and led the recruitment of nearly 1,000 members. He is now an active member himself after leaving Flint Club to work at the Genesee Institute at the Genesee County Land Bank.
The Blue Tiger Democrats is a not-for-profit corporation whose goal is to energize Democrats and Progressives through the promotion of community based initiatives. By choosing the tiger as their symbol instead of the tired old donkey, Blue Tiger Democrats seek to redefine politics by restoring respect for the political process and reviving democratic organizations through civic engagement. Michigan is one of two states pioneering this redefinition of the Democratic Party.
In addition to the donation of 5% of total campaign funds, Dayne, his staff, and his army of volunteers will be donating their time to many of the cleanup and beautification efforts in Flint and organizing a few of their own. Additionally, nets for public basketball courts throughout Flint will be paid for by the Walling campaign. Citizens may call (810) 233-9190 to request basketball nets for their nearby parks.
