Endorsements are rolling in left and right as the November election nears.

The Bay City Times has endorsed Christopher Shannon as mayor in the upcoming Nov. 8 election.

The incumbent mayor tells the paper this is an opportunity for him to lobby for the city. One hot button issue in this election is the city's continuous water woes. His challenger will be city commission president Kathleen Newsham. She previously served as mayor of Bay City for six years.

Meanwhile, another local paper is taking a stand on a candidate. The Flint Journal is endorsing incumbent mayor Dayne Walling.

The journal joins a long list of community groups and individuals supporting Walling in his re-election bid.

Walling has raised more than $200,000 in his bid to retain the mayoral seat. Officials say he's got $60,000 more to burn than the first time he ran for mayor.
