Winning Record

Dayne works hard for results.

Dayne working at his deskDayne has been working since he was a young man. After college, Dayne’s took on the challenge of cleaning up after Marion Barry with the administration of DC Mayor Anthony Williams. He was on the team that raised over $30 million in grant funds each year to transform the neighborhoods of our nation’s capital. On top of his other jobs, Dayne was a Co-Founder and the first Executive Director of the Flint Club, a nationally unique nonprofit organization with nearly a thousand members worldwide that are committed to working towards the revitalization of the city of Flint. Dayne Walling will bring his hard working spirit and winning record to Flint’s City Hall.

Dayne finds a way to win.

Dayne was Flint's first and only Rhodes Scholar, an award best known because of Bill Clinton. Rhodes Scholars are chosen based on their merits as scholars, athletes, and their proven commitment to community service.  In Minnesota, he also designed a U.S. Department of Commerce program called M3D that connects housing developments, employment opportunities and transportation networks, thus improving the daily lives of many of Minneapolis-St. Paul’s citizens. The program used cutting-edge technology that was made available to community organizations for the first time.

Dayne makes his team stronger.

Dayne inspires those that he works with to imagine new possibilities and to achieve their goals by working together. As the Get-Out-The-Vote Coordinator for National Voice, Dayne was part of the team that registered over 5 million new voters in 2004. Working with more than 50 groups across the Midwest, Dayne developed the action plan for mobilizing these new voters and getting them to the polls. Walling can unite the people of Flint and put City Hall to work for everyone.
